Details

Citroën produced the BX Sport from 1985 to 1987. During this period, Citroën produced 7,500 BX Sports. Rated at 126 PS at 5800 rpm and equipped with dual twin-barrel carburettors, the BX Sport was the most powerful BX in production at that time. The engine modifications, including a reshaped combustion chamber and larger valves, were developed by famous French tuner Danielson. It had a unique body kit, alloy wheels later also used on the GTi, a unique dashboard and Pullman interior. The seat fabric was the same as that used on the CX Turbo at the time. The body kit included a rear wing, side skirts, and fender extensions that added 10 cm to each side of the car in order to accommodate the larger wheels. The car was only available in LHD, so it was not sold in the United Kingdom

This extremely rare Citroen BX Sport was first registered in Paris in 1985 and lived there until it was imported to the UK in 2014. It is finished in Bleu Navire with the unique cloth interior taken from the then range topping CX GTi.

This vehicle has some original service invoices that date back to France when it was first registered in Paris in 1985 up to the most recent work that has been carried out by ourselves less than 500km ago which included:

  • A full rolling road tune up

  • Carburettors stripped down and rebuilt

  • New radiator

  • Replacement water pump, thermostat and cam belt

  • Spark plugs

  • Oil change

  • Wheel refurbishment

The car drives superbly and it is unlikely that you will see another on the road. The BX Sport was differentiated from the normal BX range as it received an radical bodykit and changes to the spheres in order to stiffen the suspension and a new interior that reflected the more sporting nature of the car. The engine produced 126bhp which was enough to get it to 120mph easily and it took around 8 seconds to accelerate from 0 - 60mph. The kerb weight was only a little over 1000kg.
