The second generation of the Boxster debuted at the 2004 Paris Motor Show and became available in 2005.

Revised styling included modified headlights, larger side intake vents and enlarged wheel arches to allow wheels up to 19 inches in diameter. Interior revisions included a more prominent circular theme for the instrument cluster and cooling vents. The base engine is a 2.7L 236 bhp flat-six boxer engine, with the Boxster S getting a 3.2L 276 bhp engine.

The 987 is the last generation of the Boxster and Cayman series with hydraulic steering.

This stunning condition 987 Boxster S is finished in Basalt Black Metallic with Black leather and is fitted with the following options:

  • Auto Climate

  • 19" alloys

  • Sports steering wheel

  • Extended leather (doors and dash)

  • Bose

  • Heated seats

  • Parking Sensors

  • Wind Deflector

  • Genuine Porsche Mats

This car benefits from having the safer, larger internal IMS bearing fitted from new, something that we have confirmed by an engine number check with Porsche.

It's just had a big service at 53k miles with coil packs, drive belt, gearbox oil, AC condensers, and other usual service items. New brake discs, pads and tyres have all bee replaced within last 4k miles (tyres less than 2k miles).

The car has a full service history with a mix of Porsche main dealer and then Porsche specialist later in its life, with extra oil changes in between the normal 2 year service intervals.

It currently has a Pioneer bluetooth head unit fitted with the original also supplied should you wish to change back. Although we normally like a completely original car, you simply cannot connect a phone or AUX audio source to the original head unit so this makes the car much more usable.

Another subtle modification is the well known Carnewal exhaust mod where the standard exhaust is modified to make it slightly louder and deeper while retaining the OEM look and not introducing horrid droning on the motorway.

The car was already in excellent condition but in preparation for sale it has been given a Gtechniq correction detail and wheel refurb in June 2019 by Cambridge Autogleam.

We've seen many of these Boxster's over the years and this one is truly in stunning condition mechanically and cosmetically and needs to been seen to be appreciated. Little things like the temperature controls are not worn away as they are on many examples of this age.
